By Indiana Department of Transportation, news release

The road project has been causing lengthy traffic backups on U.S. 50 in Aurora and Lawrenceburg.

(Aurora, Ind.) - The Indiana Department of Transportation will enact immediate single lane closures on U.S. 50 during daylight hours in both east and westbound directions to continue widespread pavement patching and signal refurbishment between Walmart Drive and Doughty Road through the end of April, weather permitting.

Closures in both directions will allow for dramatic roadway improvements in a short period of time.

Additional projects include:

  • Continued patching from S.R.350 to Walmart Drive and from Doughty Road to I-275, will begin two to three weeks following initial phase;

  • Curb ramp and sidewalk installation along U.S. 50 in the "downtown" area of Lawrenceburg, contractors will primarily access selected locations via side streets.
