(Indianapolis, Ind.) - With the COVID-19 pandemic ruling timelines for most of Americans, the Indiana Department of Transportation is offering to be flexible when it comes to Local Public Agency Program projects.
"We understand that local units of government are in uncharted territory, and we are too. It is going to take all of us working together in order to get through this, and we at INDOT want to be good partners," says the Indiana Department of Transportation. "We have heard concerns from both local units as well as MPOs regarding project timelines and meeting deadlines in light of the recent stay-at-home orders. Every situation is going to be a little different, but please just let us know as soon as possible if you think you are going to run into issues. We are going to handle this on a case-by-case basis, but we understand that some things may be out of your control, and we want to be flexible where we can."
The INDOT LPA Program is a reimbursement program. LPAs use a schedule to track progress and meet required timelines during project development.
