(Indianapolis, Ind.) - Indiana's unemployment rate continues to drop.
According to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development, the state's jobless rate fell to 4.2 percent in January, down from 4.6 percent a month prior.
The state's unemployment rate is lower than the national rate of 6.3 percent.
Among neighboring states, Kentucky and Ohio's jobless rates stood at 5.3 percent in January.
Indiana's total labor force, which includes both Hoosiers employed and those seeking employment, stands at 3.35 million, and the state’s 63.3 percent labor force participation rate remains above the national rate of 61.4 percent.
January employment data for Indiana Counties, Cities and MSAs will be available Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at noon.
