Indiana's April Unemployment Was 3.2%

Low unemployment persists in southeastern Indiana

(Indianapolis, Ind.) - Indiana’s unemployment was unchanged in April.

The Indiana Department of Workforce Development says the state’s jobless rate hovered at 3.2 percent last month. That’s lower than the national unemployment rate of 3.9 percent.

The jobless rate stayed put despite Indiana’s labor force growing by more than 11,000 workers last month.

In southeastern Indiana, the unemployment rate ranged from 3.6 percent in Switzerland County to 3.0 percent in Ohio County.

Dearborn and Franklin counties each had unemployment of 3.3 percent, while Ripley County checked in a 3.2 percent.
