Indiana Voter Registration Deadline Fast Approaching

It is your civic duty to vote. Make sure you are registered before October 5.

(Indianapolis, Ind.) – The voter registration deadline is approaching in Indiana.

The last day to register for the November 3 General Election is Monday, October 5. Hoosiers may register to vote online at www.Indianavoters.com.

Registration may also be submitted by mail or in-person by completing the Voter Registration Form on or before October 5.

You may return the completed form to your county’s voter registration office or the Indiana Election Division, according to the registration deadline requirements.

State law requires counties make in-person absentee voting available for 28-days before the election, ending at noon the date before the election. In-person absentee voting begins Tuesday, October 6 and ends at noon on Monday, November 2.

In the June primary, a record 500,000 Hoosiers mailed in their ballots due to COVID-19. However, that won’t happen during the general election as Governor Holcomb has rejected vote-by-mail expansion. Therefore, Hoosiers will be urged to cast their ballots in person.

Holcomb reassures Hoosiers that polling places will be well-equipped with personal protective equipment (PPE).

Mail-in voting will be available to people who will be away from their home county on Election day; people who are disabled; people older than 65; serving as a poll worker; at a regular job when polls are open; celebrating a religious holiday; serving in the military or as a public safety officer; classified as a “serious” sex offender; or lacking transportation to the polls.

The November 3 General Election is a presidential election. It will also feature races for governor, U.S. Representative Sixth District, and attorney general in the state of Indiana.
