Did some state employees receive special treatment when requesting money from the Military Family Relief Fund?
(Indianapolis, Ind.) - The top man at the Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs is brushing off questions about how some of his workers got quicker, and larger payments from the state than any other veteran.
Two Indiana vets told WRTV 6 television over the weekend that they were denied payment from the state's veterans assistance fund, even after a four month wait.
They say that workers at the VA often got paid quickly, and in some case got paid more than the state's $2,500 payment limit.
VA Director James Brown says he approved the payments, and added that no one got hurt, and no one broke any laws.
