INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana’s unemployment rate dropped slightly in September.
According to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development, the state’s jobless rate fell to 4.0 percent in September, down from 4.1 percent in August.
Indiana’s’ unemployment rate remains below the national rate of 4.8 percent.
The Hoosier state also boasts the best jobless rate among border states, which can be seen in the table below.
Indiana’s total labor force, which includes both Hoosiers employed and those seeking employment, stands at 3.34 million, and the state’s 63.0 percent labor force participation rate remains above the national rate of 61.6 percent.
Unemployment data for Indiana counties will be released on Monday, October 25 at noon.
