Current House Speaker Brian Bosma plans to retire after the 2020 legislative session.

(Indianapolis, Ind.) – Indiana House Republicans will announce a speaker-elect next week.
Current House Speaker Brian Bosma announced his retirement on November 19 during Organization Day at the Indiana Statehouse.
A speaker-elect will be announced on Monday, December 2 at 2:30 p.m.
Bosma, the longest-serving House Speaker in Indiana history, will work through the 2020 legislative session. To help with a smooth transition, House Republicans will caucus on Monday and choose a speaker-elect who will work closely with Bosma during the short session.
The legislative session will convene on January 6 and conclude on March 14.
