Indiana DNR Announces First Free Fishing Day Of The Year

On Free Fishing Days, all Indiana residents can fish the state’s public waters without a fishing license or trout/salmon stamp.

(Indianapolis, Ind.) - Indiana’s first free fishing day of the year is this weekend.

The DNR is offering free admission to state parks, recreation areas, forests, and reservoirs on Sunday, May 2 for Free Fishing Day.

On Free Fishing Days, all Indiana residents can fish the state’s public waters without a fishing license or trout/salmon stamp. However, all size and bag limits remain in effect.

Free gate admission and this Free Fishing Day is offered in partnership with the Indiana Destination Development Corporation’s Visit Indiana Week, which is May 208.
