Indiana To Move Forward With Stage 4 Of Back On Track Plan Friday

This announcement was made during Governor Holcomb's COVID-19 update.

(Indianapolis, Ind.) - Governor Holcomb says that thanks to Hoosiers' "patience and vigilance" during the COVID-19 pandemic, the start of Stage 4 of Indiana's Back on Track Plan will be moved up from the original date of Sunday, June 14. 

Beginning on Friday, June 12 at 12:01 a.m., all counties in Indiana will officially move forward in the next step of reopening the state. 

Stage 4 of Back on Track Indiana includes:

  • Social gatherings of up to 250 people
  • Restaurant dining rooms open up to 75% capacity while maintaining social distancing 
  • Bars, nightclubs open to 50% capacity while maintaining social distancing
  • Retail stores, malls open at full capacity
  • Cultural, entertainment and tourism sites (museums, zoos, aquariums, etc.) open at 50% capacity
  • Movie theaters and bowling alleys open at 50% capacity
  • Community youth and adult recreational games, leagues, and tournaments may resume 
  • Amusement parks and water parks may open at 50% capcity
    • Reservation system is recommended
  • Racing venues may open at up to 50% capacity while maintaining social distancing 
  • Pari-mutuel horse racing to begin with no spectators at Hoosier Park and Indiana Grand facilities
  • Charity gaming and casinos may open June 15 with approval of the Indiana Gaming Commission

"All of these changes, all of this progress is with consideration that social distancing, physical distancing, practicing safe hygiene are in place," says Governor Holcomb. "If we stay on this track, come Independence Day, we will be looking at festivals, fairs, parades, and carnivals."

It was also announced that playgrounds can reopen along with government buildings allowing visitors by appointment. 

Today Governor Holcomb reminds Hoosiers 65 years old and older or people at high-risk should remain cautious and limit exposure. It is recommended that everyone wear face coverings when in situations when it is hard to social distance.
