WASHINGTON DC - Congresswoman Erin Houchin (IN-09) has reintroduced four bills aimed at promoting transparency, accountability, and economic opportunity.

  • Students’ Bill of Rights Act: This bill is a foundational step towards protecting the First Amendment rights of students on college campuses and seeks to ensure that all voices are represented in the academic community. By reinforcing the fundamental rights of free speech, religious liberty, and freedom of association, this bill protects students from ideological discrimination.
  • Prioritizing Evidence for Workforce Development Act: This legislation ensures that federal workforce development funding is directed toward programs with proven results. By prioritizing evidence-based initiatives, the bill promotes accountability and ensures workers receive the training and resources needed to succeed in today’s economy.
  • Hidden Fees Disclosure Act: This bill addresses the lack of transparency in the healthcare industry, requiring Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) to disclose hidden fees that increase prescription drug costs for Americans. This will help inform patients and policymakers of the true cost of prescriptions
  • Retirement Proxy Protection Act: This legislation protects retirees by ensuring that financial advisors and proxy voters prioritize financial returns over political agendas when making investment decisions on behalf of retirement plans.

“As lawmakers, we have a responsibility to enact policies that improve the lives of Americans, hold bad actors accountable, and ensure a strong economic future,” said Congresswoman Houchin. “These bills address key issues that impact students, workers, families, and retirees by increasing transparency, protecting investments, and making sure federal programs deliver results.”
