Home for the Holidays Hits Versailles Square This Weekend

(Versailles, Ind.) - “Oh, there’s no place like home for the holidays” Main Street Versailles wraps up a very busy 2023 with a holiday event. We invite you Home for the Holidays Saturday December 2nd, 2023, for a fun filled Holiday extravaganza, with support of community organizations, local businesses and market vendors. There will be activities for all ages.

The South Ripley Music Department will host their 1st annual “Holiday Hustle” 5K run/walk starting and ending at The Kevin Hensley Memorial Park, with awards at approximately 4:30 p.m. on the Holdsworth Entertainment Pavilion. The Versailles Lion Club will have food available at their building on the square starting at 5:00 p.m.

Home for the Holidays events will kick off at 6:00 pm with a light parade sponsored by SEI REMC starting at Tyson Activity Center and winding through town. The Versailles Volunteer Fire Department will be transporting Santa and Mrs. Claus to The Kevin Hensley Park where they will light the newest addition to the park a custom made holiday tree made by Sturgeon Engineering.

The Holdsworth Pavilion will be festively decorated by Forget me Knot Event Planning and Rentals for holiday story time as you wait to visit Santa and Mrs. Claus (bring your camera). The fun doesn’t stop here. In addition, there will be trolley rides, a live nativity, s’more stations ,ornament-making with the help of Civista Bank employees, holiday cookie decorating provided by the Rolling Pin, music by the Day sisters, a Paint and Sip with local artist Laura Smart, opportunities family photo on a holiday backdrop painted by South Ripley Art students under the guidance of Mr. Gadberry, Ver-selfie stations around the square, a holiday market with local vendors, and a display of all Gingerbread House Contest entries.
