The hospital's inventory of Types O-, A+, A- and B+ have fallen drastically since elective surgeries restarted.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - The Highpoint Health/Hoxworth summer blood drive is Tuesday, June 30, 8:30 am to 3 pm, in the hospital’s conference room, located on the second floor.

“Now that elective surgeries are taking place at our area hospitals again, our inventory of Types O-, A+, A- and B+ have fallen drastically,” said Alecia Lipton, Director of Public Relations at Hoxworth. “Please donate at the Highpoint Health/Hoxworth Blood Drive so we can re-stock our shelves and ensure we are prepared for whatever tomorrow brings.”

“Being a blood donor does not increase your risk of contracting COVID-19,” said Jayna Howard, RN, Infection Preventionist, Highpoint Health. “Along with Hoxworth, we’re following enhanced safety protocols to ensure everyone’s safety. Temperature checks will be done prior to entering the hospital. If you do not have a mask, one will be provided.”

Please enter the hospital at the main lobby entrance. Appointments are strongly encouraged to comply with social distancing. To schedule an appointment, please visit www.hoxworth.org/groups/highpointhealth. You can also make an appointment by calling Hoxworth at 800-830-1091 or Highpoint Health’s Education Department at 812-537-8431.
