This advisory will remain in effect from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - The National Weather Service Wilmington OH has issued an Heat Advisory through this evening.
From 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., the tri-state area will remain under an advisory due to hot temperatures and high humidity causing heat index values up to 100.
Precautionary actions are recommended to stay safe during these conditions, including drinking plenty of fluids, staying in air-conditioning, and staying out of the sun.
If you work or spend time outside, take extra precautions. If it is possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Additionally, try to wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing and schedule frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned areas.
Be sure to check on relatives and neighbors, and always remember that children and pets should never be left in unattended vehicles under any circumstances.
Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. If you notice anyone overcome by heat, help move them to a cool and shaded location. Should anyone have a heat stroke, call 9-1-1.
