(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Cole Hornsby, 22 of Lawrenceburg was convicted on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, of Stalking, a Level 6 Felony.

The stalking case began when Hornsby became infatuated with a fellow classmate at East Central High School who did not reciprocate his advances.   After being expelled from school for possessing a firearm in 2018, Hornsby continued to harass the victim by calling her and showing up on the street she lived on. The victim obtained a civil protective order and testified that she wanted Hornsby to leave her alone and was scared by him and his actions.

“Hornsby’s actions have terrorized this victim.  I am glad that jurors saw the evidence and convicted him,” stated Prosecutor Deddens.  Convictions on the Level 6 Felonies, only carry a maximum sentence of two and a half years.

Prosecutor Deddens commended the work of father and son team of Joseph and Jefferson Kisor for trying this case.  Additionally, Deputy Craig Elliott with the Dearborn County Sheriff’s Department for his thorough investigation.

Sentencing is set for May 5, 2022, in Dearborn Superior Court No. 1 before the Honorable Jonathan N. Cleary.
