(Harrison, Oh.) - Harrison High School’s baseball coach and his family are without a home after it burned down over the weekend.

The fire happened Saturday afternoon on Kopp Lane in Whitewater Township. Wildcats baseball coach Shawn Sowders, his wife Misty, and their family lost almost everything in the fire, including their two dogs.

Shawn, who has been a teacher at Harrison for nearly three decades and baseball coach for eight years, was in the middle of coaching a game when he got word of the house fire.

Investigators believe the fire was caused by an electrical problem.

The community is rallying to the Sowders’ aid. A GoFundMe.com page has already raised more than $19,000 in donations in just one day. The fundraiser’s initial goal was only $5,000.

An account for the Sowders is also set up at Fifth Third Bank. Make a donation to the “For the benefit of Shawn and Misty Sowders” account at any branch of the bank.
