The special Safety Town event takes place this weekend at Miami Whitewater Forest.
(Hamilton County, Oh.) - Great Parks Rangers will teach traffic safety to children with a special Safety Town event, from 1-5 p.m. on Sunday, October 8, at Miami Whitewater Forest.
Children ages 4-12 will maneuver big wheels and bikes of all sizes on a safety skills driving course featuring obstacles, emergency signals and a pedestrian safety station. A special prize waits at the finish line. Fun activities and education stations will be nearby, including an animal encounter from Great Parks.
Safety tips are especially important for children who are enjoying the more than 80 miles of trails within Great Parks, either on foot or on wheels.
Safety Town is provided by Great Parks Rangers, who are state-certified law enforcement officers providing year-round, 24-hour park patrol service while exercising full police powers.
Participation in Safety Town is free. Registration is required at greatparks.org to ensure a time slot on the driving course and other activities.
