INDIANAPOLIS – Thursday was a busy day for Governor Eric Holcomb.
The governor put his signature on 79 bills, signing them into law.
Senator Jean Leising (R-Oldenburg) had her FAFSA bill signed into law. Senate Bill 167 requires all students, except for students at certain nonpublic schools, in the student’s senior year to complete and submit the FAFSA.
Leising was also a supporter of House Bill 1557. Governor Holcomb signed that bill into law, which directs the state department of agriculture to conduct an inventory of farmland lost in Indiana from 2010 to 2022.
Another bill signed into law was House Bill 1341. The bill, supported by State Rep. Randy Frye (R-Greensburg), reads, “an Indiana fire department may not purchase firefighting gear unless it contains a permanently affixed label indicating whether or not the firefighting gear contains PFAS.
