(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – Folks who see gas around $3.79 or cheaper may want to top off their fuel tanks soon.
Late Thursday, gas price tracking website GasBuddy.com sent out a gas price hike alert warning that prices in Indiana could rise to between $3.99 and $4.09 in the next 36 hours.
The site calculated the odds of the increase at 90 percent.
“Wholesale prices have risen today as gasoline standards start moving towards summer specs, driving prices higher,” the alert said.
GasBuddy.com said prices in the tri-state area are averaging $3.66 for regular unleaded, about eight cents less than one week ago.
One of the cheapest prices locally could be found in Cleves where a station was posting $3.58.
Stations along U.S. 50 through Lawrenceburg, Aurora, and Greendale ranged from $3.74 to $3.89.
Florence-area stations were largely at about $3.69.
