(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – A Freeze Warning has been issued for most of the tri-state area.

The National Weather Service says the Freeze Warning will be in effect for portions of Southeast Indiana, Northern Kentucky and Southwest Ohio on Saturday, October 31 from 2:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

Low temperatures in the upper 20’s to lower 30’s is expected overnight. Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.

Area residents are urged to take steps to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly.

Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
