You won't have to pay to enter an Indiana state park on Saturday, September 22.
(Madison, Ind.) - Admission to most Indiana's State Parks and State Forest recreation areas where entrance fees otherwise are charged will be free on September 22.
The free admission is in recognition of National Public Lands Day.
National Public Lands Day is the nation's largest single-day volunteer effort for public lands.
One volunteer opportunity is to help with trail work at Clifty Falls State Park near Madison. Many other properties will offer similar volunteer opportunities.
Properties will also offer hikes, pioneer activities, crafts and live bird shows. Brookville Lake’s Mounds State Recreation Area will host programs on September 22 including Camouflage is Key, Buzzin’ Bees, and All About Owls.
