(Franklin County, Ind.) – Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies doing their part to ensure the safety of area students and teachers.
An active shooter training was held for the faculty and staff at Oldenburg Academy on February 21.
Deputies trained school employees on how to prepare and plan for an aggressive intruder or active shooter situation.
As part of the training, staff were given real life scenarios and were provided information on how to better respond to potential threats.
Assisting with the training were officers from the Oldenburg Police Department.
“We were pleased to provide this training for the staff of the Oldenburg Academy.” said Franklin County Sheriff Peter Cates. “We look forward to the continued partnership with the school and its staff to provide a safer environment for their students as they prepare for their future.” continued Sheriff Cates.
