(Indianapolis, Ind.) – A former Indiana Supreme Court Justice has recommended suspending Attorney General Curtis Hill.
The Republican AG is accused of committing professional misconduct by groping four women at a downtown Indianapolis bar in May of 2018.
In March of 2019, a formal complaint against Hill was filed by the Indiana Supreme Court Disciplinary Commission. Former Justice Myra Selby was selected to preside over the hearing.
Selby filed a report with the Appellate Clerk’s Office on Friday. She concluded that by clear and convincing evidence that Hill violated Rules 8.4(b) and 8.4(d) of the Rules of Professional Conduct.
Her recommendation is that Hill be placed under a 60-day law license suspension without automatic reinstatement. If Hill’s law license is not reinstated, he would be unable to serve as Indiana Attorney General.
Selby said Hill’s conduct was “offensive, invasive, damaging and embarrassing” to the four alleged victims.
The parties involved have up to 30 days to file a petition for review of the hearing officer’s report.
The Supreme Court will have final authority to determine what, if any, sanction is appropriate.
