Florence Police Investigating Bomb Threat at Boone County HS

The information was relayed to police via a chat hotline.

(Florence, Ky.) - Florence Police responded to Boone County High School on Wednesday for a report of a bomb threat. 

The information was relayed to police via a chat hotline. The unknown subject told the operator on the chat hotline that there was a bomb at the high school. 

When officers arrived on the scene, the high school was temporarily placed on lockdown.  

The Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport Police Bomb Unit responded to the scene and searched the premises. It was confirmed that there were no explosive devices on the school grounds.

The preliminary investigation indicates that this was not a legitimate threat.
