(Boone County, Ky.) – The Boone County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a child drowning incident.
Deputies responded Friday afternoon to a home on the 1400 block of Clermont Court for a reported child drowning.
Upon arriving at the scene, deputies discovered that a five-year-old male was found unresponsive by relatives in the family’s above ground pool. Relatives pulled the child from the pool and began CPR.
Deputies, along with Florence Fire EMS, attempted life saving measures and transported the child by ground from the scene. The victim would be airlifted to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
The preliminary indications suggest that this incident was not criminal in nature and no criminal charges are expected as result of the investigation.
