(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Nearly five months after the horrific crime, the Aurora man accused of murdering his mother and his grandfather because he was “dope sick” will finally make his initial appearance in a Dearborn County courtroom.

Cody Wayne Booth and his girlfriend, Margie Lynn Thompson, allegedly held down and stabbed Faith Craig to death in their Douglas Drive home in Aurora last January 17. Police also believe Booth later pushed his grandfather, Walter Bryant, Jr., down a flight of stairs. When the fall didn’t kill Bryant, Thompson allegedly stabbed him.

After the killings, the couple took money and jewelry from Booth’s mother and grandfather, including Bryant’s Purple Heart. The valuables were pawned off so that they had money to purchase drugs, investigators said.

The two eventually fled Indiana, but were captured in Somerset, Kentucky on January 20. Since then, Booth has been held in Kentucky for a parole violation, according to Dearborn-Ohio County Prosecutor Lynn Deddens.

Booth was extradited to Indiana on Monday, June 4. He is now being held at the Dearborn County Jail.

Deddens says Booth is due to appear in Dearborn Circuit Court on Tuesday, June 5 at 11:30 a.m. He is charged with two counts of Murder, two counts of Conspiracy to Commit Murder, two counts of Robbery Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury as well as two counts of Conspiracy to Commit Robbery.

Eagle Country 99.3 will have Booth’s court appearance covered Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Thompson also faces murder charges, but she has been held here since her arrest. A judge denied her bond.
