A home on Benham Road in Versailles caught fire Sunday.

(Ripley County, Ind.) - Firefighters in Ripley County were quick to put out a house fire in the Versailles area Sunday, August 25.
The fire was reported in a home on the 6500 block of Benham Road. Versailles and Friendship fire departments were able to respond quickly, arriving on the scene to find smoke coming from one window of the home.
The firefighters limited the fire to one room of the home. However, there was heat and smoke damage throughout.
Nobody was injured. The American Red Cross was contacted to assist the family.
Ripley County EMS was also at the scene. Versailles McDonald’s helped to feed the volunteer firefighters upon their return to the station.
