(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - An Aurora man is in custody after a fatal accident that occurred late Thursday night in Lawrenceburg.
Cory Lyon, 50, has been arrested on charges that are expected to be officially filed later today by the Dearborn County Prosecutor's Office.
Lyon was allegedly impaired while driving when he struck a pedestrian at the intersection of U.S. 50 and Front Street.
Lawrenceburg Police responded to the crash around 10:23 on Thursday night. The preliminary investigation indicates two pedestrians were crossing north across U.S. 50 when the pedestrian walking in front was struck by a westbound vehicle.
The pedestrian, identified as Ashley Quicksall, 39, of Lawrenceburg, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Lyon remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, which included a field sobriety test.
No further information has been released at this time.
