Electric Short Causes Fire at Friendship Flea Market Vendor Booth

The fire broke out early Sunday morning.

(Friendship, Ind.) - The Friendship Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire in the 5900 block of Friendship Main Street on Sunday around 2:50 a.m.

A vendor booth caught on fire from a short in lighting.

There were reports of explosions, however no injuries were reported. 

According to the Friendship Volunteer Fire Department, a few quick thinking bystanders were able to contain the fire with portable extinguishers, limiting the damage. 

The remaining fire was extinguished by firefighters and the scene secured. There was significant damage to the contents of the booth.
