Early Morning Fire Destroys Farmers Retreat Home

(Farmers Retreat, Ind.) - Friendship Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire in the 7300 block of State Road 62 early Sunday morning. 

Upon arrival, firefighters found the home to be fully engulfed in flames. A defensive attack was initiated from all four sides of the structure. An estimated 44,000 gallons of water was utilized to extinguish the fire.

In total, 32 firefighters responded. Assisting at the scene was the Dearborn County Sheriff's Office, Dillsboro Fire, Aurora Fire, Moores Hill Fire, Aurora Emergency Rescue 429/426, and Versailles Fire. 

The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time and there were no injuries reported.
