Driver Seriously Hurt In Head-On Crash Near Harrison

The two-vehicle wreck happened Monday on New Haven Road.

(Crosby Township, Oh.) – A head-on collision near Harrison put two area men in the hospital on Monday.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office says a 2005 Hyundai Elantra being driven by Ted Paxton, 76, of Harrison, was traveling east on New Haven Road near Mt. Hope Road at around 1:38 p.m. As he negotiated a curve, Paxton’s vehicle went left-of-center and struck an oncoming 2012 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Benjamin Magalski, 38, of Aurora.

Magalski’s car went off the roadway. Paxton’s vehicle came to a stop in the roadway.

Paxton was transported by Crosby Township Fire Department to University of Cincinnati Medical Center for treatment of life-threatening injuries. Deputies say he was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Magalski was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Deputies says alcohol or drugs are not considered factors in the crash. It’s unknown if Paxton may have suffered a medical emergency prior to the wreck, which is still under investigation.
