Indiana Attorney General Curtis Hill
(Indianapolis, Ind.) - A special prosecutor has been appointed to the investigation of Indiana Attorney General Curtis Hill.
A Marion County judge ordered the appointment of Fort Wayne attorney Daniel Sigler on Tuesday, reports The Indianapolis Star.
Sigler once prosecuted former Indiana Secretary of State Charlie White for voter fraud, perjury and theft in 2011. Now, Sigler sets his sights on Curtis Hill, who has been accused of sexually harassing four women, including a State Representative at an Indianapolis bar in March.
Hill has denied any wrongdoing and has scoffed at calls for his resignation from Gov. Eric Holcomb and other legislative leaders.
Hill’s defense attorneys say the appointment of a special prosecutor creates the impression that there was a crime committed.
They have also threatened a defamation suit because allegations included in the initial report are more serious that what two of the alleged victims have said happened in their pubic statements.
