(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Dearborn County residents are being asked to help preserve a landmark within the county.

The Dearborn County Historical Society is the proud steward of the Angevine Cabin, located at 461 West High Street in Lawrenceburg.

The cabin was built in 1818 by James and Susan Angevine, who left New York City for the life of a pioneer family in the new state of Indiana.

As with any historic building, the Angevine Cabin requires ongoing restoration work to keep it open to the public. The focus of the restoration project includes logs, chinking, porch and roof repairs.

Estimated total restoration work is approximately $75,000. Donations are tax deductible according to current state and local income tax regulations.

All donors will be recognized at the Dearborn County Historical Society’s yearly members meeting in May.
