Dearborn County Law Enforcement Center

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - He stole a jar full of donations for a local animal shelter. Now, a Lawrenceburg man will spend time in jail.

Jeff Inabnit, 35, stole a jar full of change donations for Dearborn County P.A.W.S. from the Dunkin Donuts on U.S. 50. He was arrested on August 4 and bonded out of jail on August 16.

Just a day after his release, he drove off without paying for $42 in gas from the United Dairy Farmers station on U.S. 50 in Lawrenceburg.

Inabnit pleaded guilty on Friday, February 10 in Dearborn Superior Court I to two charges of Theft – one for each incident.

Judge Jonathan Cleary sentenced Inabnit to two years in jail and four years probation, with credit for 112 days already served in the Dearborn County Law Enforcement Center. Thanks to Indiana’s good time rule, he is credited with already serving 224 days.

Inabnit was also ordered to repay $42 in restitution to UDF.

Two charges of Failure to Appear are still pending against Inabnit as he did not show up to at least two subsequent court appearances following his arrests.
