(Kenton County, Ky.) - An investigation is underway after a body was recovered from the Licking River in Morning View.

Boone County Water Rescue was dispatched at approximately 9:00 p.m. Sunday at the request of Piner-Fiskburg Fire Department and Kenton County Emergency Management to investigate tire tracks leading into the Licking River.

Operations were suspended around 2:00 a.m. Monday due to unsafe river conditions. Search and recovery operations resumed around 10:00 a.m. and divers located a vehicle approximately 20 feet off the bank in roughly seven feet of water.

The vehicle and a male occupant were removed from the water.

Public identification of the individual will be made by the Kenton County Coroner's Office at a later date.
