Dearborn County Fair Baby Contest Prince, Princess Chosen

Highpoint Health has awarded savings accounts to the two little winners.

(Dearborn County, Ind.) - Rain and storms did not stop Agner Hall from being filled to capacity for this year’s Dearborn County Fair Baby Contest.  Chosen as Prince and Princess for the 2019 Dearborn County Fair Baby Contest were Charlie Laker and Lainee Solomon.  The contest is sponsored annually by the Highpoint Health Birthing Center.

Charlie, age 10 months, is the son of Jessica and Eric Laker of Batesville. Lainee, age 6 weeks, is the daughter of Ashlee McIntosh and Taylor Solomon of West Harrison.

Prince Charlie and Princess Lainee each received a trophy and a $150 savings account at the Dearborn County Federal Credit Union, courtesy of the Highpoint Health Birthing Center.

In addition, first through fourth place winners were selected in each of the eight categories and received cash prizes thanks to Highpoint Health.  Prizes were: first place, $25; second place, $20; third place, $15; and fourth place, $10.  Cash door prizes were also awarded by the Highpoint Health Physician Partners Women’s Center and Highpoint Health Physician Partners OB/GYN & Pediatrics, Lawrenceburg and Bright.

Highpoint Health’s Birthing Center features seven private LDRPN (labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum, nursery) suites.  Attractively decorated antepartum and postpartum rooms are also available as is a special OB triage room designed for mothers who come to the unit for short term observation, premature labor or other special needs.  The Birthing Center also offers the expertise of two International Board Certified Lactation Consultants.  In addition, breast-feeding classes and childbirth classes are scheduled throughout the year.
