Dearborn County Debates Air April 24 On Eagle Country 99.3

The Dearborn County Debates will air live on Tuesday, April 24 at 7:00 p.m.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Eagle Country 99.3 will bring local political debates to your radio.

We are partnering with the Dearborn County Chamber of Commerce to air the Dearborn County Debates on Tuesday, April 24 at 7:00 p.m. The debates will air live from the Eagle Country 99.3 studios.

“An election is about a competition of ideas and which direction voters would like to see their country, state or community take. As we do each election season, the radio station is again happy to help show Dearborn County voters the differences in the candidates, where they stand on local matters, and how they might act as an elected leader,” says Eagle Country 99.3 news director Mike Perleberg.

The broadcast will feature candidates from contested races including the Republican primaries for Dearborn County Sheriff and Dearborn County Council District 3. There are no contested Democratic primary races in the county for the May 8 election.

The sheriff primary is a race between Dearborn County Commissioner Shane McHenry and sheriff’s deputy Brad Schwing. McHenry has committed to appear on the broadcast. Schwing has not.

Lawmen Ryan Brandt and Kevin Turner face each other for the party nomination for Dearborn County Council’s District 3 seat. Brandt, the incumbent, is the chief of police in Dillsboro. Turner is a sergeant with the Greendale Police Department. Both have committed to appear in the radio debate.

Perleberg will host and moderate the debates. Dearborn County Chamber of Commerce president and CEO Eric Kranz will assist as the time keeper.

Voters are being welcomed to submit their questions for the candidates by emailing them here. The questions will be vetted by the station’s news staff.

If you can’t catch it live, the debate broadcast will be published on www.EagleCountryOnline.com the following day.
