(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – The Dearborn County Sheriff’s Office celebrated the retirement of Wally Lewis on Friday.

Lewis started with the Sheriff’s Office around 20 years ago as a Reserve Deputy.

He would be promoted to Merit Deputy before finding his passion as a Crime Scene Investigator.

“Det./Sgt. Lewis not only was a 20 year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office, but he also was very involved in our community. He was an expert in his field and worked several major case investigations. We hope you enjoy your retirement and have more time to spoil your grandchildren,” reads a statement from the Sheriff’s Office.

Det. Lewis received a final sendoff via Dearborn County Communications at 12:24 this afternoon.
