Crash Crimped U.S. 50 Morning Commute

Failure to yield by one motorist caused a wreck which created a long backup on U.S. 50 in Lawrenceburg and Aurora Tuesday morning.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – Many were inconvenienced, but nobody was injured in a crash on U.S. 50 in Lawrenceburg Tuesday morning.

The crash happened when a vehicle driven by a Milan resident failed to yield while attempting to make a left turn from Golden Drive out onto U.S. 50, according to Lawrenceburg Police Chief Donnie Combs. The vehicle struck a second vehicle heading westbound on U.S. 50. The impact sent the first vehicle into the eastbound lanes where it struck a third vehicle.

The second and third vehicles were driven by motorists from Cincinnati.

Following the crash, U.S. 50 Eastbound was blocked.

Police officers managed to keep the morning traffic flowing by diverting eastbound traffic into the center turn lane, motorists said. However, the crash still delayed motorists by several minutes.
