Coroner Confirms OSU Students Died of Accidental Overdose

(Columbus, Oh.) – An autopsy has confirmed the cause of death in a drug related incident involving a Dearborn County woman.

The Franklin County Coroner’s Office confirmed Tuesday that Jessica Lopez died from an accidental fentanyl overdose, reports The Columbus Dispatch.

According to the report, authorities believe Lopez and two other Ohio State University students took what they thought was a generic form of Adderall on May 4.

All three were taken to OhioHealth Grant Medical Center, where Lopez and one other died on May 5.

Lopez, 22, of Greendale, was majoring in Computer and Information Science at OSU.

Columbus Police are continuing to investigate the overdose deaths.
