CMHC Recieves Over $65,000 From FCC COVID-19 Telehealth Program

The Community Mental Health Center was one of 77 health care providers across the country that received funding.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) — The Community Mental Health Center (CMHC) in Lawrenceburg is one of 77 health care providers receiving funding from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). 

The FCC continues to approve funding throughout the COVID-19 pandemic to provide telehealth services. On Wednesday, June 24, the FCC Wireline Competition Bureau approved $29.41 million in funding to urban and rural health care providers across the country. 

CMHC was awarded $65,142 for various technologies, including laptop computers, videoconferencing software, and network upgrades to maintain continued behavioral health care to new and current patients. This will allow the staff to work remotely with all patients. 

Authorized by the CARES Act, the COVID-19 Telehealth Program has approved 444 funding applications for a total of $157.64 million in funding to date.
