(Dearborn County, Ind.) - A portion of State Road 46 will close on or after Monday, March 3 for a slide repair project in Dearborn County.

The closure will take place between Covered Bridge Lane and Higher Ground Lane, located approximately one and a half miles west of U.S. 52 and is expected to be complete in mid-April, weather permitting. During the closure, motorists should use the official detour route which follows State Road 1 to I-74 to U.S. 52.

An additional slide correction project will take place on S.R. 46 between Covered Bridge Lane and Higher Ground Lane following the completion of this closure. Additional information will be provided by INDOT at a later date.

This project is part of a $1.9 million contract awarded to Dave O'Mara in November 2024. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
