(Cleves, Oh.) – A Cleves man is in custody after allegedly threatening officers with a shotgun
Hamilton County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 200 block of Bassett Street on Friday to conduct a follow-up investigation regarding a crash that happened earlier that day.
At the residence, deputies say Richard Baker, 43, answered the door with a shotgun in hand. He allegedly took the shotgun off safety and threatened the deputies not to come any closer to his property, advising a 14-year-old child was in the residence.
Baker would be taken into custody after several hours of negotiation. He sustained minor injuries during his arrest and was treated at UC Medical Center.
Baker is charged with Aggravated Menacing, a Misdemeanor of the First Degree; Using Weapons While Intoxicated; Inducing Panic; Child Endangering; Disorderly Conduct While Intoxicated; and Willful or Wanton Operation on a Street or Highway.
Harrison Police, Cincinnati PD, Green Township PD, and the Village of Addyston provided mutual aid at the residence.
