Kentucky State Police have not said how the child got into the hot vehicle.
(Crittenden, Ky.) - The Kentucky State Police say a two-year-old's death in Crittenden should be a warning.
Troopers say they got a 911 call about an unresponsive toddler in a car on Big Bear Circle in Crittenden at around 6:00 on Saturday evening. A trooper arrived and attempted life-saving measures.
The toddler was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Grant County where the child was pronounced dead.
The investigation into the child’s death is ongoing. an autopsy has been scheduled.
KSP commanders say parents need to "look before you leave."
"Placing your purse or bags in the back seat to make yourself turn around when you arrive somewhere. Placing your cell phone in the back so you have to turn around to pick it up. If you are at your residence and you are unable to locate your child, one of the first places you should look is inside of your vehicle because of the dangers that surround it," KSP Trooper Charles Loudermilk said.
