(Versailles, Ind.) - While not fully complete, the Carson Hughes' Observation Point at Versailles State Park is now open.

Visitors are encouraged to take a walk along the path and pause at Carson's interpretive sign, which is something he once dreamed of creating. This spot is a place to share his photos and help others discover the wildlife at the park.

One of the benches near "Carson's tree" is a quiet place to reflect and take in the beauty of Versailles State Park.

Boulders and a spotting scope are expected to be added in the near future.

"We hope this space brings peace to our community, encourages you to slow down, and reminds you to take in the beauty of the lake, wildlife, and everything this park has to offer. We are so thankful to the staff at Versailles State Park, Indiana DNR, and the volunteers with RVVF—this would not be possible without each and every one of them," reads a statement from the Carson Hughes Foundation.
