Candidates File For Dearborn Judge


(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – A Lawrenceburg attorney has filed to run for Dearborn Superior Court II Judge, setting up a potential November showdown with the incumbent judge.

 

Alan Miller, a partner at Zerbe Garner Miller Blondell LLP, filed his official paperwork on Monday with the Indiana Secretary of State’s Office.

 

Miller, who announced his intentions last September, will run as a Democrat in the May primary. He is currently the only party member to file for the office.

 

"I am looking forward to meeting with the public and speaking with them about the problems with our system," Miller said in a release.  "I'm excited to discuss my proposed solutions and show them that we can do better."

 

The Dearborn Superior Court I judge’s bench is currently held by Sally Blankenship. She filed for re-election as a Republican on January 19.

 

The filing deadline for political candidates in Indiana is Friday, February 10.

 

According to Miller’s press release, he has been an outspoken critic of the county's proposed jail expansion project, arguing that the solution to the jail's overcrowding problem lies with changing the system itself.
