(Franklin County, Ind.) – Charges have been filed following a fatal accident in Franklin County.
Sheriff Pete Cates and Prosecutor Chris Huerkamp announced charges against Joshua T. Trammell, 43, of Brookville, as result of a fatal crash on U.S. 52 on July 21.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Trammell was traveling left of center when his Chevy Silverado collided with a vehicle driven by Virginia Fasbinder, 46, of Brookville.
Fasbinder was pronounced dead at the scene, and Trammell was transported to Margaret Mary Health with serious injuries.
While at the emergency room, investigators obtained a blood sample from Trammell, which allegedly indicated the presence of illegal substances in his system.
It was determined that Trammell was under the influence of amphetamine and methamphetamine at the time of the crash.
Trammel was located Thursday morning and taken into custody.
He is charged with Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance Causing Death, a Level 4 Felony; Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated Causing Death, a Level 4 Felony; Reckless Homicide, a Level 5 Felony; Illegal Possession of a Syringe, a Level 6 Felony; and Habitual Offender, sentence enhancement.
No court dates have been announced at this time.
