(Ripley County, Ind.) - Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Dave O'Mara Contractor Inc. plans to begin work next week on a $2.5 million superstructure replacement project at the S.R. 62 bridge over Laughery Creek in Ripley County. The bridge is located approximately four miles east of S.R. 129 near Friendship.

On or after Wednesday, June 1, the bridge will be reduced to one lane with temporary signals to control traffic during phased construction. The signal is scheduled to remain in place through mid-November. Cave Hill Road will remain open throughout the project, but will have its own signal for access onto S.R. 62.

The contract was awarded to Dave O'Mara in November 2021. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, avoid distractions, and consider worker safety when traveling through active construction zones.
