Brad Lecher Announces Candidacy for Franklin Co. Sheriff

(Brookville, Ind.) – Longtime Franklin County Sheriff’s deputy Brad Lecher is running for Sheriff.

Lecher announced his candidacy for the Office of Franklin County Sheriff in the 2026 election on June 13.

Lecher was born and raised in Oldenburg and is a 2002 graduate of Batesville High School.

He began his career with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department in 2004 as a jail officer. In 2008, Lecher was promoted to Merit Deputy, a position he has held for the majority of the past 17 years.

“During my career, I briefly stepped away from law enforcement to assist with operations on our family farm. It was a time that reaffirmed my appreciation for the agricultural roots of our county but also deepened my recognition of how essential public service is to who I am,” said Lecher.

If elected, Lecher says he is committed to “protecting conservative values and ensuring that Franklin County continues to be a safe place to live, work, raise a family and visit.”
