(Boone County, Ky.) – Eight juveniles have been cited in Boone County for participating in a TikTok challenge called ‘Devious Licks’.
The challenge encourages students to steal or destroy school property and post it.
Boone County Schools Superintendent Matthew Turner sent a letter to parents on Thursday warning that students participating in the recent social media trend could be subject to disciplinary action, such as paying restitution for damaged property, and possibly being charged by local police or the sheriff’s department.
As of Friday, the Boone County Sheriff’s Office says eight students have been cited for participating in the challenge.
“Please talk with your child/children about respecting their fellow student peers and school property and make them aware we are taking a zero tolerance stance on this behavior,” said Turner.
